Reigate Rotary Job Interview Coaching Programme

Reigate Rotary Surrey Job Interview Coaching Programme

How did you get on in your first interview?

Did you make a good first impression; did you show the right amount of confidence; did you make enough eye contact with your interviewers; was your CV impressive?

School leavers very often are very nervous and are not well prepared to be interviewed for their first job or even for entry to further education.

To help with this situation members of the Reigate Rotary club visited The Royal Alexandra & Albert school in Reigate as part of their Mock Interview programme held over two evenings last week. Some thirty sixth formers were interviewed in circumstances simulating their application for a career post. They had already submitted their CV and were questioned thoroughly about their background and to assess their potential.

The programme which is arranged nationally by the Rotary organisation is designed to show the students what they might expect when they leave school or university. A comprehensive report is given to each interviewee along with advice on how they can perfect their performance. The course is designed to improve their confidence, presentation and answers to questions, so when the time comes for a real interview for a job, they are more likely to succeed.

This scheme is part of the ongoing ‘service to the local community’ project of the Rotary club.
