– CLUB STRUCTURE –
The Club Council oversees the general running of the Club. It consists of the President, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, the Chairs of the Committees and two elected Members representing the general membership.
Members serve on one of four standing Committees and can also help on the activities and events of the other committees.
Each Committee is managed by a Chair and a Secretary and in order to maintain the continuity of programmes and activities, the Secretary of a Committee becomes its Chair the following year.
- Club Service Committee: oversees Club Organisation, Publicity, Membership, Website, Property and specific events such as the President’s Evening (formal dinner) and “Raids” to other Clubs when, instead of a normal meeting, members join the meeting of another Club in the area.
- International Service Committee: raises money for Rotary Foundation ( Rotary’s own global charity). Other charitable activities include Polio Plus, Shelter Boxes, Used Spectacles, Sightsavers, Book Aid, etc.
- Community Service Committee: focuses its activities on the Reigate community through activities such as Christmas Collections, Christmas Party for the elderly, Charity auction, Sports for the disabled and Kids Out.
- Youth Service Committee: activities include Vocational Visits, Practice Interviews, Youth Speaks, Club Debate and RYLA.
- An ad-hoc Special Projects Committee can be set-up for one-off activities such as fund-raising for the President’s nominated Charity during the year.
A number of Club Officers fulfil one or more specific functions: Editor, Speakers’ Co-ordinator, Attendance, Sports, Public Relations, Webmaster, Welfare, Foundation, Club Protection, Environmental, etc.
